Dealing With Grief and Loss
Grief can change the shape of our lives in ways we never expected. Losing someone we love can affect our sense of identity, belonging and even our understanding of home. There is no single way to deal with grief and loss, and no fixed timetable for learning how to live alongside it.
For many people, grief is not simply about saying goodbye. It is about memory, love, family and finding a way forward while still carrying the person we lost with us.
These themes of grief, love, loss and homecoming are at the heart of my memoir, Her Son’s Love, written after the death of my mother during the 2020 pandemic.
